Accessibility Statement
Last updated: August 2026
We want everyone to be able to make a card, whatever device or assistive technology they use. This page sets out what we do, what we know still needs work, and how to get help.
What we're aiming for
We are working towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA. We have not yet completed a full independent audit against that standard, so we don't claim to conform to it. We'd rather tell you where we are than overstate it.
What we build in
- Semantic page structure, so headings and landmarks make sense to a screen reader.
- Keyboard access to the main journey, with focus indicators kept visible.
- Text that scales, and layouts that reflow on small screens and at high zoom.
- Descriptive labels on controls, and alternative text on images that carry meaning.
- Animation that respects your system's “reduce motion” setting.
Known limitations
These are the parts we know are not yet good enough. We're working on them, and in the meantime we'll gladly do any of this for you, see below.
- Placing text inside your card. The message editor works by dragging text boxes around the page with a mouse or finger. There is currently no equivalent way to do this with a keyboard alone.
- The 3D card preview. You can turn the card by dragging it. The “Closed”, “Narrow” and “Wide” buttons give a keyboard-reachable alternative, but they don't offer the same free movement.
- Colour contrast. Some secondary and helper text on the site is lighter than we would like. We are working through it.
- Screen-reader testing. Our testing so far has been keyboard and automated checks. We have not yet completed structured testing with every major screen reader.
If something here doesn't work for you
Please tell us and we will help you directly. You should never have to miss sending a card because of how our website is built.
- We'll make the card with you over email.Describe the person, the occasion and the message you want inside, and we'll design it, send you the preview to approve, and take the order without you needing to use the studio at all.
- We'll take payment and delivery details another way if the checkout is difficult to use.
- Ask us for any other adjustment. If there is something that would make this work for you, ask. We would much rather change how we do something than lose you.
Email support@relicanddear.com. It helps if you can tell us the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what got in the way, plus the browser or assistive technology you use, if you know it. You do not have to explain anything about yourself to ask for help.
Reporting a problem
Accessibility problems are bugs and we treat them as bugs. Send them to the same address and we'll confirm we've received your message, tell you what we can do and by when, and let you know once it's fixed. If we can't fix something quickly, we'll tell you that too, and offer a way around it in the meantime.
Keeping this honest
We review this page as the site changes, and update the limitations above as things are fixed or new ones are found. If anything on this page doesn't match your experience of using the site, that's worth telling us about as well.
